Overall Farmersville saw a small jump in crime statistics for 2018, mostly in more serious crime categories.
“As the town grows it is natural to see a small uptick in crime and calls for service,” Police Chief Mike Sullivan said.
Tier 1 crimes include crimes of a more serious nature such as homicides, robberies, assaults, thefts, burglaries and motor vehicle thefts.
In 2018, Farmersville saw two homicides (an increase of 2,) two robberies (an increase of 2,) 50 assaults (an increase of 17,) 35 thefts (an increase of 15,) 24 burglaries (a decrease of 13) and one motor vehicle theft (a decrease of three.)
