The city of Farmersville receives a sales tax reimbursement check from the Texas State Comptroller this month for $77,001, a 12.0 percent increase from a year ago.
Reimbursements to Texas cities were distributed by the comptroller this month for taxes collected on retail sales made in April.
In July 2014, the check to Farmersville was $68,750.
This year the city has been reimbursed $506,295, a 7.18 percent increase from the $472,336 million received for the same period in 2014.
Statewide, the comptroller distributed sales tax proceeds to cities totaling $396 million this month, up 4.76 percent from the July 2014 total of $394 million.
So far this year, cities in Texas have received $3.03 billion in sales tax proceeds compared to $2.89 billion in 2014, an increase of 4.76 percent.
Cities in Collin county are reimbursed a total of $19.84 million this month, up 1.79 percent from the $19.49 million received from the comptroller a year ago.
