Jerry Best Smith

Jerry Best Smith, 91, of Garland, passed away on July 8, 2015. She was born Nov. 18, 1923, in Farmersville, to Dr. Jerry Robert and Gladys Geraldine (David) Best. She was a homemaker and loved to spend time with her grandchildren. She would take them to Vacation Bible School and kept them entertained with arts and crafts. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and quilting. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Farmersville for many years.

She is survived by her daughter, Shelly Kay Smith Price; sons, Frank W. Smith, III and David S. Smith; daughter, Robin A. Smith Sugart; grandchild, Micah L. Smith; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank W. Smith, Jr.; parents; 3 sisters; and one brother.

Funeral services were on July 11, 2015, at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Farmersville. Family received friends at 9 a.m. The Rev. Leon Auddell officiated the service. Burial was in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Farmersville.
