Residents from around the DFW Metroplex spent the long weekend helping the residents of Farmersville, Blue Ridge and Copeville with debris removal after the tornadoes.

Over the past weeks, storm cleanup has been on the minds and hearts of many both within the DFW metroplex and in Collin County.

For the long weekend, many set aside their own needs to help out those of their neighbors, sorting through rubble, repairing items and carting off debris.

Hundreds of volunteers met at First Baptist Church of Farmersville Jan. 14 through Jan. 18 to aid the tornado victims in simply moving debris to the Collin County landfill utilizing free landfill fees from the county.
