Information released from the Farmersville Police Department Jan. 27 indicate that there was no mechanical issues that resulted in the fire engine crashing into the Dairy Queen.
According to Police Chief Mike Sullivan, representatives for Siddons-Martin, Dairy Queen and the city of Greenville have since met and evaluated the mechanical operation of the fire engine. The parties have reported that there were no mechanical issues discovered that attributed to this accident.
The black box data was reviewed and does not indicate any specific malfunctions with the fire engine. Investigators are continuing to follow-up with the driver of the fire engine and are awaiting toxicology results from the Department of Public Safety Lab.
