Average billing, wastewater treatment plant on horizon

Average billing is on the horizon for Farmersville residents.

The city council looked at options for implementing average billing either for electric only or for all utilities including refuse, water, sewer and electric.

“We have the capability to do average billing,” City Manager Ben White said. “We have had a lot of requests for it, but we expect people to sign up for it steadily over time, not a stampede situation.”

“We still have to pay our bills monthly and we have enough saved in our accounts to make those payments?” Mayor Joe Helmberger asked.
