Multiple police agencies spent the early morning hours of Wednesday, May 18 chasing suspects and investigating an attempted burglary.

According to Farmersville Police Chief Mike Sullivan, at 5:15 a.m. May 18, a customer drove up to the Shell Station at 304 Hwy. 380. As the customer pulled up to the front door, a blue passenger vehicle was parked at the front door and a masked man exited the vehicle passenger side of the vehicle wearing a black ski mask and holding a gun. Once the customer was spotted, the suspect reentered the suspect vehicle and the suspects fled westbound on Hwy. 380. The suspect never entered the store. The customer called police and the Farmersville Police Department  put out a description on the suspects, vehicle and began checking the area.

At approximately 5:35 a.m. Princeton police officers spotted the suspect vehicle behind the Valero Gas Station in their city and began to follow listed vehicle until more units could arrive. Upon arrival of a Farmersville unit, officers attempted to stop the suspects who were heading back into Farmersville. Initially, the suspects pulled over but suddenly accelerated and a pursuit ensued.

Subsequently, the suspects wrecked their vehicle into a creek at the end of Pecan Creek Dr. and fled on foot. One suspect was immediately apprehended and has been identified as Michael Ransom, 31, from Dallas. Another suspect was stopped on foot in Princeton and identified and the investigation is still ongoing regarding this subject. The area was thoroughly checked by many law enforcement agencies who responded to the area.
