Farmersville firefighters Trevor Redwine and Chris Calverly strike up conversation as they bread fish for frying at the annual fish fry.

This year’s Farmersville Fire Department Fish Fry had no shortage of fun, fish or fundraising as the department raised more than $10,000.

“I want to thank all those that sponsored, gave silent auction items and to the community for their support. We truly appreciate our community and we’re proud to serve you. Now we start thinking about Sparks of Freedom,” Fire Chief Kim Morris said.

More than 500 people purchased meal tickets at the event, which showcased a menu of fried catfish, hush puppies, cole slaw, dessert and drinks.
