Farmersville group helps Hurricane Florence efforts

by | Sep 14, 2018 | Latest

Hurricane Florence made landfall earlier today, and a team from Farmersville is heading to the Carolinas to help with the damage.

The ASPCA invited Shutt’er Down Ranch and Rescue Team, a sanctuary for rescued farm animals, to assist them at the affected area.

Shutt’er Down needs donations from the community. They are requesting medical supplies, flea and tick medicine, dog and cat food, leashes, collars, blankets, towels, bleach, Clorox wipes, buckets, work and plastic gloves, mosquito repellent, boots, storage bins and livestock food.

Donations can be dropped off at Farmersville Grain and Hardware, located at 210 South Main Street, and Shutt’er Down Ranch, located at 4455 County Road 702.

Cash donations can be sent via paypal.me/girtysplace.

They will be leaving Sunday, Sept. 16 at the latest to head to help the hurricane-affected area.
