School, council members selected

New city councilmembers and school board trustees were elected in the May 4 voting.

Elections were held for area city council and school board seats, bonds and taxes. Farmersville elections were for city council, school board members and Collin College board of trustees.

Incumbent councilmember Craig Overstreet, who ran unopposed for Place 1, was re-elected to office with 177 votes (100 percent).

For Place 3 city council, Jim Hemby was elected to the seat with 173 votes (100 percent). Michael Hesse, who did not seek re-election, previously held the seat.
