Prices to be shopped on indoor facility

by | Jul 25, 2019 | Latest

Farmersville Independent School District trustees agreed to do some price shopping before making a decision to construct an indoor athletic practice facility for which it has received a pledged gift of $750,000.

The school board met in regular session Monday, July 23. Other items on the agenda included setting the 2019 property tax rate and setting a date for a public hearing on the tax rate and school district budget.

Architect Brett Sumrow of Corgan architects in Dallas gave the board a preliminary estimate of $6 million to build a indoor athletic practice facility that would include a 60-yard-long field, plus endzone, two restrooms and a storage area, basing that estimate on a facility recently built by Crandall ISD.
