Area businesses cope, or close

Gov. Greg Abbott has issued an executive order in an effort to slow the spread of coronavirus that is going to have a tangible impact on dining establishments and those that serve alcoholic beverages. The order limits gatherings of no more than 10 individuals in a single public indoor space. Abbott’s order took effect Friday, March 20 and will last at least until April 3.

Earlier in the week, the governor issued a waiver that will allow restaurants to deliver alcoholic beverages with food purchases to patrons, including beer, wine, and mixed drinks.
