Take boating, water safety precautions

The spring and summer months are prime time for boat­ing in Texas. This means learn­ing how to be safe while on the water is crucial.

Just like driving, it is recom­mended anyone interested in owning or renting a boat take a boating safety course. The im­portant lessons learned during these courses can save one’s life. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) offers an online version of a course but in-person options are also avail­able. To access the TPWD on­line course, visit twpd.texas.gov.
