Council critiqued over boards

 A member of Farmers­ville’s Main Street Board of Directors sought to with­draw her resignation from the board, only to watch the city council get into a heated argument over a newly im­plemented selection process – and then cast a split vote to accept the resignation she wanted to take back.

At issue at the council’s July 14 meeting was the res­ignation of Allison Mathers, wife of Mayor pro tem Dwain Mathers – who recused him­self from the vote regarding her resignation
