Farmersville football returned for their home opener last night against Krum searching for answers after a disappointing season opener.
Down 14-0 to the Bobcats, the Farmers needed to find a way to turn around their struggles on offense.
Senior Braden Lair answered the call.
On the next drive, Lair cut the deficit to seven after running it in from 56-yards out for a touchdown.
After a Krum punt placed the Farmers on their two-yard line, Lair and the offense marched down the field, tying the game on a 57-yard touchdown throw from quarterback E.J. Chairez to tie the score at 14 points each.
By halftime, Lair had rushed for 106 yards on 10 carries while adding 67 yards receiving to his total. In the second half, Lair had added another rushing touchdown of 53 yards, ending the game with over 300 total yards and three total touchdowns.
In the end, it would all be needed, as Farmersville claimed their first victory of the season in a 33-31 victory over the Bobcats.
