Council, 4A board discusses hiring future EDC director

 Farmersville has taken a step toward establishing a new eco­nomic development director po­sition, but a hearing before the City Council and the Economic Development Council board ended without the city charting a clear course toward creating that post.

Councilmembers and EDC (4A) board members held a rare joint meeting Sept. 17 at City Hall, hearing from consultant, Sam Satterwhite, who recently retired as economic develop­ment director in Wylie. Satter­white delivered a lengthy expla­nation on what he would expect in a new EDC director in the event Farmersville City Coun­cil decides to hire one.
