Holtzwihr, France thankful for Audie Murphy’s heroism

 Audie Murphy’s memory and his combat heroism is alive and well in the commu­nity in Northeast France where he performed his heroics.

Holtzwihr is a village lo­cated just west of the French border with Germany. It has a population of about 1,300 residents and residents of the community reportedly are eternally grateful for the her­oism displayed by the quiet North Texan who went on to become America’s most highly decorated soldier.
