In their district opener, Farmersville football couldn’t handle a strong rushing attack, as they lost to the Quinlan Ford Panthers 45-7 for their homecoming game.
Thoughts from Coach Brandon Hankins:
“We didn’t execute tonight, but they are a very good football team,” Hankins said. “In my opinion, that’s the best team we have played all year.”
Key Play of the Game: Kaiden Roden rushes for a 15-yard touchdown
With the Farmers down 16-7, the team had a chance to climb back into the game, before Ford’s third rushing touchdown of the game gave the Panthers a three possession lead.
Impact Stat: Ford’s 450 rushing yards
As it has done in each of their five games this season, Ford rushed for over 400 yards in the game, including over 100 yards rushing from both JaDonavan Williams and Kaiden Rodan. With their ability to dominate the ground, the Panthers were able to wear down the Farmers physically.
Top Farmer of the Night: Tailback Braden Lair
Scoring the only points of the game for Farmersville was Braden Lair, who had a solid game on the ground, rushing nine times for 117 yards, including a 58 yard run for a touchdown.
