Proposed lights could lift holiday spirits

Mayor Bryon Wiebold in­tends to keep the holiday spirit alive in Farmersville and plans to ask city council for approval of a plan to light up the city with Christmas lights.

Farmersville has been plagued with cancellation of several community events re­lated to the coronavirus pan­demic. Wiebold wants to create a Farmersville Lights event that would allow residents to enjoy the holiday spirit. The mayor envisions using community de­velopment funds allocated by the city as well as private dona­tions from residents.
