Farmersville loses a tough one on the road to a very good Caddo Mills team

by | Oct 19, 2020 | Sports

The Farmers fall to 0-2 in District after a 70-14 loss to Caddo Mills.  Caddo Mills QB Tyler Townley does exactly what he’s been doing all season, leading the prolific Caddo Mills’ offense.

Thoughts from Coach Hankins:

“’We played a really good football team in Caddo,” Hankins said. “I thought kids played hard, and I feel we are a playoff football team. We need to clean up our mistakes and get ready to play Wills Point on a short week.  Looking forward to Monday practice.”

Key Play of the Game: Farmers failed fake punt

With 2:24 left in the first quarter, down 21-0, the Farmers tried a fake punt deep in their own territory.  Braden Lair had some running room, but it was snuffed out by Caddo Mills and he wasn’t able to pick up the first down.

Impact Stat: Tyler Townley’s 405 yards of total offense

The Caddo Mills QB has put up insane numbers all season, and didn’t disappoint tonight.  He accounted for 212 through the air, 193 on the ground and eight total touchdowns.

Top Farmer of the Night:  Braden Lair

Lair really showed his abilities as a receiver tonight, catching seven balls for 64 yards and two touchdowns.  Lair continues to be the main offensive threat for the Farmers.
