After more than a month of preparation and anticipation, winners were selected from the 12 entrants, all local business owners, in the Shop Girls Day contest hosted by the Farmersville Heritage Museum.
In the early days, Shop Girls were some of the first women to enter the retail workforce, and at times they would walk busy downtown areas wearing something fashioned from the business they represented.
