The Farmersville City Council has set in motion a process for local businesses to apply for funds to assist them in coping with the COVID-19 pandemic, allowing them to receive a portion of grant money tied to funds that Collin County has in hand.
The council decision came Nov. 17 at a special meeting. The city eventually will disburse as much as $40,000 to all eligible businesses that apply and are approved by an ad hoc committee set up to review the applications. Councilmembers approved the resolution unanimously.
