Farmersville Soccer Preview

This week marks a big transition for the Farmersville soccer teams, as they close out their pre-district schedule and they prepare to fight for a playoff spot. Here are the games for Farmersville soccer this week:

Thursday, Jan. 21-Saturday, Jan. 23: Farmersville boys, girls soccer compete in Kaufman for tournament

Going back on the road, the Farmersville boys soccer team finish their pre-district schedule in their final tournament of the season this weekend, facing off in a three day event at Kaufman Friday, Jan. 22, through Saturday, Jan. 23. The Farmers open the tournament with a battle against Ennis Friday, with kickoff scheduled for 10 a.m. Later that afternoon, Farmersville is scheduled to play another 4A competitor in Argyle, with the game scheduled for 6 p.m. The Farmers close the tournament against host Kaufman in a Saturday morning game. Kickoff against their district rival has yet to be announced.

Alongside the boys team, the Farmersville girls soccer team will close their pre-district schedule at the same venue, participating in the Kaufman girls tournament Thursday, Jan. 21, through Saturday, Jan. 23.  The Lady Farmers open the tournament with a game against district rival and host Kaufman, scheduled to take place Thursday at 10 a.m. The following day, Farmersville is scheduled to play Dallas Carter, with first kick scheduled for noon on Friday at Kaufman H.S. Farmersville closes the tournament in a Saturday afternoon game against an unknown opponent, with the options including Ennis, Community or Dallas Pinkston. More details on that game will be released closer to kickoff.

Wednesday Jan. 27: Farmersville opens district competition against Caddo Mills

Shortly after their tournament action, the Farmersville boys and girls soccer teams open their district competition at home, hosting Caddo Mills in a district double-header Wednesday, Jan. 27. Both opponents present interesting challenges for Farmersville in their opening game. The boys soccer team started their season with a 4-5-1 overall record, while the Lady Foxes are currently 9-1-1. Kickoff for the varsity girls game is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., while the varsity boys soccer team is scheduled to kick off at 7:15 p.m.
