Entering the second round of district competition, the Farmersville girls basketball team was able to improve their district standings, giving themselves two big wins to push themselves into district title contention.
Farmersville closed its week in a momentous way, playing Community on the road Friday, Jan. 15. After narrowly winning their home matchup against the Lady Braves earlier in the season, the Lady Farmers entered this matchup knowing they would be facing adversity, with senior forward Reese Fetty unable to play with an ankle injury. Fetty was integral to Farmersville’s success to start the season, leading the offensive attack, including 22 points in Farmersville’s first matchup against Community.
Despite these adversities, the Lady Farmers were able to have their best offensive output against a district opponent, defeating Community 68-49.
