Soccer players ready for break to recuperate

by | Mar 11, 2021 | Sports

Spring break couldn’t have come at a more opportune time for the Farmersville soccer teams, as a series of injuries and a tight schedule have forced the teams to play several games with little to no depth on the field.

Farmersville coach Chris Chase said he’s glad to get a week off from the field, hoping to come back out of spring break healthy and ready to close out the season strong.

“We need it,” Chase said. “We lost to Bonham 3-1, partly due to the fact that we’re beat up with a series of injuries. Ella Rudicile got injured in the Community game, so she missed the whole thing. Cheyenne Rogers missed part of the Bonham game, Kate Rich missed part of that game, and Vanessa DeJesus missed part of the game. We’re entering the break banged up. It’s just the sheer volume of games we’ve been dealing with injury issues. It keeps coming back at us, and we also don’t have the numbers depth wise that we could lose any of those kids, much less all of them.”
