Following a productive 2021 spring season, the Farmersville softball team were rewarded for their strong play in the field, as several players earned all-district honors.
Despite a shortened offseason, the Lady Farmers were able to accomplish most of their goals this season, earning a district title after going 9-1 against their rivals. With a 17-8-1 overall record, Farmersville won their bi-district playoff match versus Brownsboro before losing in the area round to Pleasant Grove.
Here is a list of the recognitions the Lady Farmers received for their play in 2020-21:
Paula Wilfong- After leading the Lady Farmers to a district title, coach Paula Wilfong was recognized for her efforts, earning the district’s coach of the year award. With several underclassmen shining this season, Wilfong said she hopes to replicate that success next season.
Reese Fetty- A star in every sport she competes in, senior Reese Fetty a major factor in the Lady Farmers’ success this season, earning the district’s MVP. Serving as both a starting pitcher and a big contributor on offense, Fetty proved to be more than any district opponent could handle.
