Code enforcement, Main Street Manager discussed

by | Jun 17, 2021 | Latest

The Farmersville City Council is trying to figure out a way to hire a new Main Street manager while making clear to whom he or she reports and avoiding conflict between various governing and regulatory panels.

Kevin Casey, the former Main Street manager, was terminated by City Manager Ben White after less than a year on the job.

At the Tuesday, June 8 city council meeting, however, it was decided the topic needs more “introspection,” as Councilman Craig Overstreet described it, before moving forward to selecting a successor to Casey.

The council did decide that it will meet before too long with the city’s community development council (4B) to hash out some of the issues that Mayor Bryon Wiebold said has come between council, 4B, the Main Street board and White.
