Academic calendars approved

It took only 11 minutes for the Farmersville Independent School District Board of Trust­ees to conduct its business Monday night, but one item the board approved is likely to put smiles on the faces of doz­ens of high school students.

The FISD board approved a request to send Farmersville High School band members to Branson, Mo., on a four-day trip in June 2022. Tentative plans call for the students to visit the renowned family en­tertainment community from June 2-5, 2022. Band director Scott Cross, who projected the band will comprise 110 to 115 members next school year, predicted that about 75 to 80% of the students will want to at­tend the getaway.
