After a summer away from action, the Farmers had their first week of the season, traveling to Commerce to compete in the seventh annual Tigers Invitational Saturday, Aug. 21.
Farmersville’s events started after the 5K competitions, running in the 4A two-mile events. The varsity Lady Farmers had the best overall result, finishing ninth out of 16 teams with 212 total points. The boys runners finished 12th out of 20 teams with 311 points.
Junior Makayla Grabowski had the best time among the Lady Farmers, ending up 39th overall (15:31.48). Sophomore Aubrey Varner finished 42nd overall (15:35.48), while senior Kate Rich ended up 50th (15:56.20). In her first high school cross meet, freshman Ashlynn Clark finished 84th overall (17:27.62). Junior Lauren Hall was the final Lady Farmer to cross the finish line, ending up 97th overall (18:21.95).
