Lady Farmers win district opener at Terrell

by | Sep 17, 2021 | Latest, Sports

In their district opener, the Lady Farmers had the opportunity to prove how special they are.

Farmersville (25-1) had one of its best pre-district starts to any season. The Lady Farmers won 18 games in a row, including victories over 5A schools like Greenville and Princeton. In the latest TGCA poll, Farmersville was ranked first overall among 4A volleyball teams, sitting ahead of Hereford (27-2) and Kennedale (20-3).

They took their first place ranking into the opening game of district competition, traveling to Terrell Friday, Sept. 10. Terrell (1-8) already played Farmersville earlier in the season, losing in two sets in the Princeton tournament.

After a slow start, the Lady Farmers proved too much to handle for the Lady Tigers, winning in a three-game sweep.
