Farmersville enters their final pre-district game on a two-game losing streak, losing to Ferris 49-38. Here are three keys to a Farmersville victory over Van Alstyne.
- Play more disciplined
A lack of discipline was a big factor in the Farmersville loss to Ferris. Coach Randy Barnes said the Farmers had three basic goals: no turnovers, no unnecessary penalties and tackling well. Barnes said these goals weren’t achieved and the Farmers committed several mental mistakes in the fourth quarter.
If Farmersville wants to break its losing streak, they need to play smarter. Though the defense thrives on creating chaos, the Farmers still have to be disciplined inside that chaos. After committing two turnovers against Ferris, Farmersville also needs to limit these mistakes.
