Farmersville football loses to Ford

by | Oct 9, 2021 | Latest, Sports

The Farmers (0-1, 2-4) allowed 49 unanswered points in their district opener against Ford, losing to the Panthers in Quinlan (1-0, 6-0) 67-27.

Play of the Game: Rowdy Rowan scores two first-quarter touchdowns

This season, the Panthers have capitalized on a balanced attack, utilizing seniors Jadonavan Williams, Kaiden Roden and Rowan to score. Against Farmersville, Rowan set the tone early against an aggressive Farmersville defense.

On their opening drive, Rowan scored on a 44-yard rushing touchdown, allowing Ford to go up 8-0 following a two-point conversion by Roden. After a Farmersville punt, Rowan connected with Roden on a 25-yard pass before scoring on a 10-yard rushing touchdown.

Williams added two rushing touchdowns of his own in the second quarter. Rowan’s third rushing score and a passing touchdown to Williams allowed the Panthers to have a 43-point lead heading into halftime.
