Three keys to victory: Farmersville vs. Wills Point

by | Oct 21, 2021 | Latest, Sports

Farmersville lost their home district game against Caddo Mills 50-24. The Farmers travel to winless Wills Point Friday. Here are three keys to a Farmers victory over the Tigers.

  • Establish the running game

One area where Farmersville struggled against Caddo Mills is their rushing attack. After gaining 171 yards against Ford, tailback Brady Tidwell finished with 54 yards on 15 carries. The rest of the Farmers finished with 10 yards on 12 carries, with Brady Gray finishing with 12 yards on seven carries.

Farmers coach Randy Barnes said his team prioritized pass blocking and running routes before the Caddo Mills game. If that same attention is brought to the rushing attack this week, Tidwell should have a bounce back game against a weak Tigers defense. Wills Point allowed the Braves to rush for 314 yards in their district opener against Community.
