Blassingame pumped to kick off basketball season

by | Nov 11, 2021 | Latest, Sports

Things will look different for the Farmersville boys basketball under new coach Stephen Blassingame and is excited for the opportunity to help rebuild the program.

He is the 3rd head coach hired by FHS since 2018, moving over from Wolfe City in June.

Last year’s team relied on a strong offensive unit, outscoring opponents with volume shooting opportunities. Without a dynamic scorer on the roster, the coach said he’s installing a high intensity defense to better suit the team’s needs.

The Farmers return four seniors with starting experience last season: guard Tre Brewer, guard/small forward Brady Tidwell, forward Jordan Herring and center Tom Saari. Herring was a mainstay in the starting lineup, while Brewer, Tidwell and Saari rotated the remaining spots.
