Farmersville Bass fishing wins Lake Lewisville contest

The Farmersville High School bass fishing team won their first tournament in program history Saturday, Dec. 4.

The Farmers had two of the top-10 finishers out of 209 total boats at the Lake Lewisville North Division Tournament. They also won the School Champion Trophy after weighing in 33.3 pounds and 13 fish through their top three teams.

The duo of Jacob Tull and Dakota Malena finished first overall with a catch totaling 16.91 pounds. They beat out Prosper’s Cooper and Connor Boatright by .3 pounds. Tye Thompson and Mason Erwin finished eighth with 11.10 pounds, while Jayce Fagan and James Wood finished 27th overall with 5.29 pounds.
