Farmers defeat North Hopkins

Farmersville won their final game before the holiday break against North Hopkins 52-47.

They lead by one-point at the end of the first quarter and 24-20 by halftime. Logan Lane scored nine points in the first half, while Kael Matthews and Tre Brewer both scored six points.

The Farmers extended their lead in the third quarter, outscoring North Hopkins 13-12. They made four of nine free throw attempts in the fourth quarter and held on to win.

Lane scored a team-high 19 points, while Brewer scored 13 points. Matthews added 11, Tom Saari scored three and Austin Grobe, Jordan Herring and Brady Tidwell each scored two points.

The Farmers will play in the Boles Tournament Monday, Dec. 27. Their district opener is Tuesday, Jan. 4, against Caddo Mills.
