Local outreach programs reap holiday rewards

by | Jan 7, 2022 | Latest

The generous spirit of giving is alive and well in Farmersville, according to residents who took part in the city’s holiday celebration.

“The Farmersville Outreach Alliance Angel Tree program for 2021 was a success by any measure,” said Judy Brandon, who runs the Outreach Alliance. “We were able to sign up and adopt approximately 275 children this year,” she added, explaining that the children ranged in age from younger than one to 18 years of age.

“We started signing up families in November and then concentrated on getting as many children as possible adopted by willing and generous people from our area,” she said. Not all children received sponsors, she said. “It happens every year,” she explained, adding that “Farmersville Outreach Alliance always ensures that every child gets the Christmas they deserve.”
