Farmers denied district appeal by UIL

by | Feb 25, 2022 | Latest, Sports

The Farmersville football team’s appeal to move out of Div. II District 5-4A was denied by the UIL.

The District Assignment Appeals Committee of the University Interscholastic League heard six appeals regarding reclassification and realignment Wednesday. The committee, composed of UIL Legislative Council members, heard testimony from all interested parties regarding each appeal. The UIL denied five of the six appeals.

With the decision, the Farmers will remain in their assigned district for the 2022 football season and beyond. Head coach and athletic director Randy Barnes had begun the appeal process to limit the travel. The Fightin’ Farmers’ district for football only will be:

District 5
Aubrey
Bridgeport
Farmersville
Gainesville
Krum
Sanger
Van Alstyne
