Farmers sweep Ford

by | Mar 26, 2022 | Latest, Sports

Jason Gomez’s RBI double drove in Mason Erwin as Farmersville’s baseball team completed a two-game sweep over Quinlan Ford with a 5-4 victory Friday night.

The Farmers (3-1, 8-11) were trailing 4-2 after the fifth inning but battled back with two runs in the sixth to send the game into extra innings. Mason Erwin drove in the first run on a sacrifice fly before Cooper Strawn tied the game with an RBI ground out.

That led to the eighth inning when Erwin reached base with a one-out single. Two batters later, Gomez found a gap with two outs to drive in the winning run.

Farmersville will continue their season with three non-district home games. They’ll face Anna on Tuesday, Sanger on Friday and Mt. Vernon on Saturday, April 2.
