City manager wants to bring fiber to Farmersville

Farmersville City Manager Ben White has dropped a heaping plate of questions and issues for city council to consider as the community continues to chart a path toward a future dominated by exploding growth.

The questions involve the proposed installation of a state-of-the-art computer fiber network to give Farmersville several added inducements to commercial interests that might want to relocate to the community. White made his pitch during a 30-minute presentation at the council’s May 10 regular meeting. He had help from James Lightfoot, an executive with ACRS, an Oklahoma City-based construction consulting firm that is helping plan the installation and implementation of the fiber network. White described Lightfoot as an experienced consultant, saying, “this isn’t his first rodeo.”
