Council denies development, cites density issues

Farmersville City Council denied a request for a zone change that would have led to a 231 single-family residential development that proponents said would signal a huge boost for the city’s downtown district. Instead, council members endorsed a recommendation at its May 24 regular meeting from the Planning & Zoning Commission to deny the development, citing density issues associated with such a large project to proceed.
