Arson at the Ag Barn

The Collin County Fire Marshal is requesting assistance from residents to solve an arson case.

According to a Monday, June 6, Farmersville ISD news release, a fire occurred at the Ag Barn located at Farmersville Junior High School in the early morning hours June 6.

Unknown suspects entered the barn and started two fires, said the news release, adding that residents are encouraged to check security camera footage to help identify the suspects or vehicles they used.

The district said no animals or students were harmed as a result of the fire as the barn is still under construction.

Residents who may know who started the fire are asked to reach out to the Deputy Fire Marshal Matthew Jones by calling 469-525-5085 or emailing [email protected]. They can also submit an anonymous tip at anonymousalerts.com/farmersvilleisd.

There is also a reward of up to $1,000 offered through the Texas Arson Hotline, which can be reached by calling 877-434-7345.
