FISD plans additional security upgrades

by | Jun 8, 2022 | Education, Latest

Farmersville Independent School District Superintendent Micheal French has offered a stern vow in the wake of the Uvalde school massacre that killed 19 children and two teachers two weeks ago.

“We aren’t going to wait 80 minutes,” French declared in describing a scene he hopes never presents itself in Farmersville, referring to the intense criticism related to the delay in sending officers to engage the shooter. “We’re going in as soon as the second cop arrives,” he said in response to the criticism of law enforcement over its delay in confronting the shooter who on May 24 killed the victims in Uvalde.

What’s more, French has offered assurances that FISD is going to provide even more security upgrades to all the campuses in Farmersville that are slated to be improved with money from the $65 million bond issue that voters approved in May 2021.
