EUSTACE-The Eustace Bulldogs topped the Farmersville Farmers in their 2022 season opener in thrilling fashion with a 27-21 overtime victory on Aug. 26 at home.

The Farmers opened the scoring with a long 65-yard touchdown reception by Colton Harbin as they took an early 7-0 lead over the Bulldogs in the opening minutes.

The Bulldogs responded on the ensuing kickoff as Justin Abbe returned the kick 80 yards for a touchdown to tie the game 7-7.

The Bulldogs increased their lead with a lengthy 27-yard touchdown run by Cannon Kilcrease to give Eustace a 13-7 lead after a missed point after attempt.

Farmersville also received a kickoff return for a touchdown courtesy of a 95-yard run by Jeralin Craddock. That was one of two touchdowns as Craddock also added a rushing touchdown in the contest as the two teams sat tied 21-21 at the end of four quarters, forcing a sudden death overtime quarter.

The Bulldogs got the final say as they took down the Farmers with a touchdown in the fifth quarter, winning 27-21 to open the season.
