The Farmersville Independent School District Police Department had decided some time ago that it needed extra sets of eyes it could put on all the campuses within the school system, according to Police Chief Steve Wade.
Then came the tragedy at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, where a gunman killed 19 children and two educators.
“When we saw what happened at Uvalde,” Wade said, “that’s when we decided to move ahead” more aggressively with plans to shore up the FISD monitoring of campus activity.
