Farmersville beats Van, advances to regional semifinals

by | Nov 8, 2022 | Latest, Sports

For the second season in a row, the Farmersville volleyball team ran into Van in the regional quarterfinals.

This time around, it was all Lady Farmers, who swept away the Vandals 3-0 (25-23, 25-17, 25-18) at Rockwall Heath High School Tuesday night. It was a close first set with Farmersville calling a timeout down 21-18, but they were able to right the ship and Angie Lee closed out the set with a kill.

Lee didn’t stop there, pacing the Lady Farmers to an early lead in set two. Van was forced to use a timeout early down 9-1, with Lee having four kills and two blocks during that span. In total, the LSU commit had 19 kills in the game. Rendi Fetty ended up closing out set two, as she added eight kills as well.

Farmersville now faces the winner of Celina and Van Alstyne in the regional semifinals at Mesquite Horn this Friday. If the Lady Farmers win that, they’ll play the following day again at Horn in the regional finals with a chance to advance to state.
