Surprise employee bonuses approved

by | Nov 17, 2022 | Area news, Education, Latest

Because of a larger increase in fund balance than originally expected, the Farmersville ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved to increase employee bonus stipends with an additional $2,000, along with the budgeted amount of $750 per employee.

In the Monday, Nov. 14 meeting, trustees heard that the $2,750 per employee will be distributed in two checks, with the “surprise” announcement being made on the morning of Tuesday, Nov. 15.

The budget amendment had strong support from the board.

“Our people are our most important resource,” trustee Brian Brazil said. “We should definitely reward them whenever possible.”

School Board President Tony Gray echoed that sentiment.
