Last week’s frigid temperatures combined with sleet, snow and freezing rain caught many residents by surprise prompting multiple closures in the city due to hazardous road conditions.
Due to the winter weather, Farmersville ISD canceled classes for four days starting Tuesday, Jan. 31. As of press-time, the district has not decided how to proceed with the missed days as they only have “two bad weather” days on the calendar, said Assistant Superintendent Micah Taylor.
