Farmersville completed the sweep to open the district season, defeating Ferris 6-5 at home Tuesday night.
The Farmers (2-0, 14-3) scored six runs over the first three innings to secure the early lead. The Yellowjackets battled back, scoring four runs in the top of the fourth inning after a weather delay had Farmersville sub out starting pitcher Cooper Strawn, but Farmersville was able to get out of the inning and secure the 6-5 victory. It was the second win for the Farmers over the Yellowjackets this season, winning 10-5 last week.
Collin Berry had two hits and two RBIs in the win, while Strawn and Mason Erwin combined to strike out 15 Ferris batters.
Farmersville faces Carrollton Ranchview Saturday night to start their next two-game series.
