Not only did Farmersville sweep local rivals Community Tuesday night, but they also moved one step closer to a District 13-4A championship.
The Farmers (6-0, 18-3), despite being outhit by the Braves (3-3, 13-10), won 3-0 at home. The victory gave them a three-game lead over several teams with just four games remaining in district play.
Paxon Graves and Brayden Malone each drove in runs, while Caden Norman earned the win with 6 1/3 shutout innings, striking out four batters. Mason Erwin closed out the final two hitters, getting the save.
Farmersville hosts Caddo Mills this Thursday, April 6, in their next district game.
